Measure the amount of fertilizer in each of the catch pans. The center catch pan should have the most fertilizer and the outer most catch pans should have the least - in each successive catch pan away from the center - there should be an equal amount of fertilizer in the left catch pan and right catch pan. This should produce a bell shaped curve. If you overlap 100% or wheel to wheel coverage then the bell shaped curve patterns overlap and the result is a consistent amount of fertilizer on all areas of the turf.
Successive passes with a fertilizer spreader should overlap 100% or wheel to wheel to maintain a nearly constant level of fertilizer applied over the entire area. Designed by Jason L. Gray. |
