DichondraDichondra is a perennial that thrives in warm, tropical areas. In solid stands it makes a pleasing but rather delicate lawn. It spreads by slender, creeping stems that root at the nodes. Kidney-shaped leaves grow opposite each other along the main stem. Flowers of dichondra are small, greenish and inconspicuous. They are located along the main stem below the level of the leaf. Dichondra thrives in moist soils, but has little ability to withstand freezing temperatures.
