HenbitThis annual makes its first appearance in late winter or early spring. It is primarily an upright grower, but can root and vine from nodes of the lower leaves. Henbit, like other members of the mint family, has a typical square-shaped main stem. Leaves are rounded, coarsely toothed, hairy and deeply veined. They grow opposite each other along the main branches. At the top of the plant they are clasping, while at the bottom they grow on short stems. Flower of henbit are trumpet-shaped and pale purple. This plant can become a particular problem in early spring.
