PearlwortPearlwort is a very small matted perennial that occurs in cool moist climates. It is a grass-like plant that becomes particularly troulesome on golf greens and other closely mowed areas. Pearlwort generally creeps from a matted rosette and forms similar rosettes along its creeping branches. Leaves are very narrow, pointed and mostly opposite each other. Flowers are tiny and inconspicuous with four small petals and four longer sepals. They are generally found on long stems near the tips of the branches. Although pearlwort is one of the smallest weeds in turf, it can also be one of the most troublesome.
