Description: Annual from a taproot with branches that are typically decumbent early in the life cycle and become more erect as it matures. Leaves are simple with entire margins and are alternately arranged on the stem. Leaves often have a white-gray, wooly pubescence on the lower surface. Discoid heads lacking ray flowers end in a terminal cluster and has a pappus of white hair-like bristles that spread with the wind, much like dandelion.
