Description: Summer annual grassy weed that can grow up to 1 m tall in un-mowed areas or can spread in a weakly erect fashion in mowed areas. Often hard to distinguish from other species in the Echinochloa genus, including Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crusgalli L. Beauv.) However, Jungle Rice has awnless spikelets while Barnyardgrass has spikelets with awns of various lengths.
