Description: Annual plant growing from a deep taproot. Inflorescences consist of densely packed flowers in terminal or axillary spikes or panicles. Many species are found in Texas including Tumbleweed (A. albus), Prostrate Pigweed (A.blitoides), Redroot Pigweed (A. retroflexus), Palmer Amaranth (A. palmeri), and Water Hemp (A.rudis).
