Description: Native perennial herb with underground bulbs and sour sap due to the presence of oxalic acid. Glabrous, shallowly notched leaflets extend upward on glabrous pedicels in a basal rosette pattern. Other Oxalis species such as O. articulata may appear similar but will have pubescent pedicels and undersides of leaves. Flowers are violet to pinkish purple and rarely white.
